Summary

Description Kamakura period Japanese wooden statues with polychrome, gold, and crystal. The statue on the left depicts Komoku-ten, Guardian of the West, and the statue on the right depicts Tamon-ten, Guardian of the North, two of four Buddhist guardians (shitenno) assigned to each of the four major cardinal directions.
