English: Dr Frank Buchman was an American Lutheran pastor who founded the Oxford Group in 1921 which became Moral Re-Armament in 1938 and Initiatives of Change in 2001. He was decorated both by France and Germany for his role in the French-German reconciliation.

This picture was taken by the famous Harris and Ewing photo studio which stopped its news service in 1945. On his retirement in 1955, Harris gave some 700,000 glass and film negatives to the Library of Congress.
