DescriptionBubble memory card for Apple II, component side (19146005122).jpg
The large square component with the hexadecimal data on its label is the Intel 7110A-4 bubble memory chip. It is surrounded by support components, including the 7220-1 controller (40-pin DIP, not to be confused with the NEC 7220 graphics controller). The right 1/3 of the board is the Apple II bus interface and firmware EPROM.
For higher component packing density, the design uses two power distribution bus strips along the bottom edge of the board.
There are two pairs of wire jumpers on either side of the edge connector. The jumpers in each pair are in parallel; one pair is for ground and the other is for +5V. Either pair of jumpers could be replaced by a connection to an ammeter to measure the power consumption of the board.
Along the top edge of the board are two jumper blocks labeled J1 and J2, whose function is unknown, but may be involved in formatting the memory.
