Description
English: Bruton Parish Church and churchyard, Williamsburg, James City County, Virginia, by the American photographer and photojournalist Frances Benjamin Johnston. 8 x 10 safety negative is dated 1930-1939. Image from the Prints and Photographs Division, Library of Congress, Washington, D.C., to which photographer Johnston bequeathed her archives in perpetuity, hence there are no restrictions on publication. (See LOC website.) The memorial shaft monument to Col. John Page, who donated the land for Bruton Parish Church and who died in 1692 at age 65, can be seen to the right of the front door of the church.
