English: Dedicated on 4 July, 1998, 'The Brothers in Valor Memorial' at Fort De Russy honors the Japanese American veterans who served in the 100th Infantry Battalion, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, the 1399th Engineer Construction Battalion, and the Military Intelligence Service during World War 2. The memorial was designed by Bumpei Akaji, A 100th BN/442d RCT veteran himeself who attended the Florence Academy of Fine Arts and Academia de Belle Arti in Milan on a Fulbright Scholarship, and received an MFA from the University of Hawaii 1951.
