English: Broadway from the east This is probably the most dramatic vista in Nottingham's Lace Market area. The buildings date from the 1850s and it was here that the machine-manufactured lace for which Nottingham is famous was worked up into finished products. The quality of the architecture reflected the fact that much of the output served the top end of the market. Buildings are now mainly occupied by small business, some still in the textile trade, with one of the major buildings now part of a secondary college.
