| Description |
English: Broadstone Station. View northward, towards Blandford, Templecombe and Bath (left tracks) and Wimborne, Salisbury and Brockenhurst (right tracks). Ex-London & South Western (L&SW) Poole (also Hamworthy Junction) - Salisbury/Brockenhurst via Wimborne lines; southern end of Somerset & Dorset Joint (L&SW & Midland) line to Blandford, Templecombe and Bath. The passenger services via Wimborne from Salisbury and from Brockenhurst to Poole ceased (also the line to Hamworthy Junction closed) 4/5/64 but goods continued until 2/5/77. The S&DJ closed to passengers 7/3/66, but remained open for goods as far as Blandford for a year or so longer. |
