English: A coat of arms for the British Empire designed by Edward Marion Chadwick, a Canadian heraldist. It assembles fifty-six arms from across the empire to form one large shield. Existing references were used wherever possible, but new arms had to be created for territories that did not possess any. Certain regions are grouped together due to the nature of their governance, and many princely states of India were left out since it was a challenge to accurately represent their noble ranks. In the order they are quartered, the arms featured are as follows:
