Description
English: Brig. Gen. Alpheus H. Bowman, U.S.A. (ret.) was a former captain with the 91st Pennsylvania Infantry, private with the 3rd Pennsylvania Artillery's Co. L and a 1st lieutenant with the 2nd Pennsylvania Artillery's during the U.S. Civil War. Post-war, he worked his way up the command structure with various U.S. Army units, serving in both Cuba during the Spanish-American War and in the Philippines.
