Description
English: Bridges on the Mississippi, at Dubuque, a wood engraving published in Picturesque America (1872), New York: D. Appleton & Company. Note: Looking Northeast, across the Mississippi, from Iowa, the Illinois Central railroad bridge is in the background with the Dubuque Shot Tower immediately behind and upstream. Both features are extant as of 2012, the bridge was updated early in the twentieth century.
