English: German Fahnenjunker (en: officer cadet; literal: colors junker) Otto Braun (1897-1918) in the age of 17 or 18 as dispatch rider in the replacement squadron of the Chaser Regiment on Horse No. 4 of the 17th Army Corps as part of the 8th German Army in summer of 1915 near Warsaw in Poland naked on a horse in the river Bzura. The picture could have been initiated by the wound below his right knee. On this occasion Braun wrote the poem Afternoon at the Bzura.
Deutsch: Der 17/18-jährige Fahnenjunker Otto Braun (1897–1918) als Meldereiter bei der Ersatz-Eskadron des Jäger-Regiments zu Pferde Nr. 4 des XVII. Armeekorps der 8. Armee im Sommer 1915 bei Warschau in Polen unbekleidet auf einem Pferd in den Fluss Bzura (Nebenfluss der Weichsel). Ein Anlass für diese Fotografie könnte die ersichtliche Verletzung unterhalb des rechten Knies sein. Dazu verfasste Braun das Gedicht Nachmittag an der Bzura.
