Style is a blend of Italian Renaissance Revival, Romanesque Revival, and Chicago School. The building has been used as a set in a variety of movies, notably Blade Runner in 1982. Listed in U.S. Register of Historic Places, as U.S. National Landmark, and as a L.A. Historic Monument #6.
