Inscription InfoField | Am Brühl 6 Wohnhaus der jüdischen Familien Ortweiler und Appel 1894–1942 1894: Erwerb des Hauses durch Albert Ortweiler aus Walldorf (Werra) und seine aus Bauerbach stammende Frau Lina, geb. Ledermann. Aus der Ehe gehen zwei Töchter hervor, Sophie Susanna und Hildegard. 1920: Susanna Ortweiler heiratet Jakob Appel aus Mansbach, den späteren Inhaber des Ledergeschäftes im Haus. 1921 und 1924 werden die Söhne Joachim und Günter geboren. 1938: Albert Ortweiler und Jakob Appel werden verhaftet und in das Lager Buchenwald verschleppt. A. Ortweiler stirbt an den Folgen der Haft. 1941: Das Haus wird von den Nationalsozialisten als Ghetto mißbraucht. Hier müssen die jüdischen Familien Gutmann, Katzenstein, Wolff, Salomon, Ortweiler und Appel zwangsweise auf engstem Raum zusammenleben. Susanne Appel wird im September verhaftet, 1942 in Ravensbrück eingeliefert und am 08.10.1942 in Auschwitz ermordet. 1942: Martin Wolff wird in Buchenwald getötet. 10.05.1942: Die jüdischen Bewohner des Hauses werden nach Belcyce deportiert, die meisten später umgebracht, darunter auch Jakob und Günter Appel. Hildegard Ortweiler lebt später in Israel, Joachim Appel in den USA. Zum Gedächtnis an die in den Jahren des Nationalsozialismus vertriebenen und ermordeten, über Jahrzehnte vergessenen jüdischen Familien der Stadt Weimar 1995 |
