العربية: كوكبة الجبار العملاق. (أبراج نصف الكرة الجنوبي). من كتاب صور الكواكب الثابثة (كتاب صور الكواكب الثمانية والأربعين) مراجعة لكتاب المجسطي لبطليموس بأسماء النجوم العربية ورسومات الأبراج. بتاريخ 1009-10م (400 هجرية). علامة الرف: إم إس. مارش 144. رسم توضيحي يظهر الجبار كما سيظهر في الكرة السماوية، صورة معكوسة لكيفية ظهوره لمراقب من الأرض. احتوى كتاب الصوفي على رسالتين إيضاحيتين لكل كوكبة، تُظهِر كلا الرأيين.
English: Orion (al-jabbar), the giant. (Constellations of the southern hemisphere). From Al-Sufi's Book of the Fixed Stars (Kitāb Ṣuwar al-kawākib (al-thābitah)), a revision of Ptolemy's Almagest with Arabic star names and drawings of the constellations. Dated 1009-10 (A.H. 400). Shelfmark: MS. Marsh 144. Illustration showing Orion as it would appear in the celestial globe, the mirror image of how it appears to an observer from the earth. Al-Sufi's book had two illustrations for each constellation, showing both views.
