English: Bonnie McCarroll, was a very popular performer who competed in numerous categories. Women's events were commonplace in the 1920s. However, McCarroll was later killed in a fall from a horse - not the fall seen in this photo. This took place at the Pendleton Round-up in 1929. Her death, coupled with other social changes, resulted in fewer rodeo events for women for decades to come.
