Description
English: On 10. Oct. 1868 the bone marrow was first described as blood forming organ by Ernst Neumann (Pathologe) (1834-1918) in Koenigsberg, todays Kaliningrad. Neumann found out the "Lymphoide Markzelle" as later on "postembryonal pluripotent Stem Cell" in bone marrow.
Deutsch: Die Abbildung stellt die Erstbeschreibung des neu aufgefundenen Knochenmarks als Blutbildungsorgan dar durch (Franz) Ernst (Christian) Neumanns (1834 - 1918) (Centralblatt für die medizinischen Wissenschaften Jg. 5 (1868) Nr. 44, Titelblatt. In eine Vortrag vor dem Verein für wissenschaftliche Heilkunde vom 13.10.1868 wird die Umwandlung der lymphoiden Markzelle in den Erythroblsten beschrieben.
