Summary

Description
English: Boats on the Red River Wharf by painter Đỗ-đức-Thuận in 1930. This is the first woodcut in the history of Vietnam's academic painting that has a strange appeal. The artist seemed to confide to the native land his unrelenting melancholy about the pompous and peaceful capital city of ancient times.
