English: Bloomsbury: Mecklenburgh Square, WC1 The square is named after the wife of King George III, Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburgh-Strelitz (1744-1818), whom he married in 1761. This is the east side of the square built around 1812 to the designs of Joseph Kay. These residences suffered from major damage during the Blitz.
