Size: 2.9 x 2.2 x 1.4 cm.
Blodite is a rare hydrated sulfate found in oceanic and lacustrine salt deposits and in nitrate deposits in arid regions. This is a superb toenail example of the rare species. This pristine, doubly terminated, dark gray, floater crystal is lustrous, transparent to translucent and has very sharp faces and edges. The chisel-like terminations are fascinating. Excellent material from the famous Soda Lake of California and the Dick Jones Collection.
