English: Blackfriars, Newcastle upon Tyne. Blackfriars was a Dominican Friary, founded in the 13th Century. It is one of the most complete and best preserved Friaries in England. After Henry VIII dissolved the monasteries, Blackfriars became a meeting place for members of Craft Guilds.
