Summary

Description
English: Bishop's Palace, Paignton A plaque on the tower states: "Fortification of the Palace of the Bishops of Exeter, Lords of the Manor of Paignton from 1066 to 1549". Most tourists who visit Paignton and even some residents do not know that Paignton is the most ancient part of Torbay, and by far the most important for hundreds of years. Just off the main shopping street, this ancient Tower and wall is a reminder of the far distant past.
