f others, more kind-hearted to all living creatures, and areeager to do something that will count forhappiness or betterment in the bird-world,and hence, in our own. The two succeeding letters come fromteachers more advanced than are most ofthem in a knowledge of zoology. I have always been interested inbirds, writes Ruth Buckingham, of Love-land, and have a picture-collection of overfifty different species found in this part ofOhio. I keep this collection where thechildren can have access to it, so thatwhen they have a few spare momentsthey may get a bird and try to draw itwith the colored crayons I give them forthat purpose. I do not try to stuff thechildren with information. I try to getthem to find out things for themselves. This last one is from a principal, W. N.Thayer, of Norwood: I have been givingincidental instruction in bird-study inconnection with our work in biologicalnature-study, for some years past, andI have found the Audubon leaflets andpictures valuable supplements.
