Description
English: The Mosque of Omar, Bethlehem, July 2005.

This photo is taken from outside the Church of the Nativity. The mosque is named after the Omar ibn Al-Khattab, who visited Bethlehem as an envoy of the Prophet Mohammad in 638 AD and is said to have prayed in this spot. The present building dates from 1860.

This photo was taken by me in July 2005 and is put into the public domain. --Zero0000 06:44, 27 August 2005 (UTC).
