English: Paan and shupari (Betel leaf and Areca nut) is a traditional palate cleanser usually served for guests as a sign of hospitality in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and other South Asian countries. In some part of Bangladesh, paan is served after the dinner as a palate cleanser and breath freshener.
