一群正在玩著「柏林空運」遊戲的柏林孩童

維生作戰（Operation Vittles）是美國軍方給予著名的zh:柏林空運（Berlin Airlift）正式的任務名稱。zh:1948年6月間，zh:蘇聯所主導的zh:東德政權以技術上的藉口封鎖了從zh:西德通往zh:西柏林的高速公路（Autobahn）與zh:鐵路之後，美國軍方在zh:6月26日正式啟動此任務，使用大量的zh:C-47“空中列車”（Skytrain）式與zh:C-54“空中霸主”（Skymaster）式運輸機，跨越東德領空運送包括糧食在內的補給物資到西柏林。這條由運輸機所串成空中補給動脈俗稱“空橋”（Luftbrücke），柏林空運任務一直到zh:1949年zh:7月31日才正式宣告結束。

圖中所見是一群住在柏林坦伯霍夫空軍基地（Tempelhof AB）旁的德國小孩，拿著當時在西柏林玩具店裡都可買到的美國運輸機模型，模仿柏林空運時飛機降落的遊戲。坦伯霍夫是當時西柏林境內唯一的機場，今日該機場則是作為柏林的市區機場，與做為國際機場的zh:提格機場（Tegel）搭配使用。
