Deutsch: Ehemaliges Gebäude der naturwissenschaftlichen und medizinischen Institute der Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität (heute: Humboldt-Universität) in Berlin-Mitte. Das Gebäude nahm ursprünglich den gesamten Block zwischen Dorotheenstraße, Wilhelmstraße, Reichstagufer und Busenstraße ein. Es wurde 1873-1883 nach Entwürfen von Paul Spieker errichtet; beteiligte Architekten waren unter anderem Karl Zastrau und Moritz Hellwig. Der Gebäudetrakt des Physikalischen Instituts am Reichstagsufer wurde im Zweiten Weltkrieg schwer beschädigt und später abgetragen; an seiner Stelle steht heute das Hauptstadtstudio der ARD. Die erhaltenen Teile des Hochschulgebäudes stehen unter Denkmalschutz.
English: Former building of the medicine and natural sciences institutes of Frederick William University (now Humboldt University) in Berlin-Mitte. The building once occupied the whole block between Dorotheenstraße, Wilhelmstraße, Reichstagufer and Bunsenstraße. It was built 1873-1883 to a design by Paul Spieker; other architects involved included Karl Zastrau and Moritz Hellwig. The wing of the physics institute was heavily damaged in WWII and later demolished. In its place now stands the Berlin studio of the TV and radio network ARD. The preserved parts of the university building have been dedicated as a historic landmark. |
