Summary

Description
English: Belz crater on Mars. Mosaic of two Viking 1 images from camera B (010A54 and 010A56). Clear filter was used for these images. Resolution is about 41 m/pixel. This is an approximate reconstruction of a figure on p.75 of NASA SP-441: VIKING ORBITER VIEWS OF MARS, which has the following caption:

Rampart crater in Chryse Planitia. The outer edge of the inner ejecta layer of Belz Crater is demarcated by a low ridge or rampart. On the surface of the ejecta layer are faint radial striations and concentric ridges and grooves. Outside the rampart, the topography is similar to the distal parts of lunar and mercurian ejecta, with numerous isolated hummocks and indistinct radial ridges.
