Transfer of the ashes of Napoléon Ier from Belle Poule onto Normandie in Cherbourg ways, 8 December 1840. La Normandie carried the coffin as far as the mouth of the River Seine, where it was transferred to the small ship La Darade 3, which took it to Courbevoie, a suburb of Paris.
