Summary

Description
English: This shows the first few bars of the initial fugue subject entrance in the fourth movement of Beethoven's Hammerklavier sonata. The subject is in the bottom staff, with the top staff showing a false counterpoint entrance. The subject continues on for a few more bars beyond this excerpt. This passage is preceded by a lengthy introduction; once the fugue begins here it dominates the remainder of the movement.
