Summary

Description
English: A borderline tautologous sign in Albuquerque, New Mexico, marking the location of a ravine named Arroyo del Oso ('Ravine/creek of the Bear') in Spanish, and Bear Canyon in English. Arroyo is literally 'stream' or 'creek' in Spanish, but in the region more often means 'ravine, small canyon, or dry creek bed' (most new Mexico arroyos are dry throughout the majority of the year). The sign's phrasing "Bear Canyon Arroyo" thus effectively means 'Bear Canyon Canyon'.
