Description
The Beale Memorial Clock Tower in Bakersfield, California. The original tower, shown here, stood at the intersection of Chester Avenue and 17th Street. It was badly damaged in the earthquakes of 1952 and subsequently demolished. A replica of the tower was constructed in the 1960s on the grounds of the Kern County Museum.

Notes The date of "c. 1900" given on the USC Digital Library page cannot be correct, because the tower was not completed until 1904.
