Français : Tableau de peinture militaire napoléonienne, il est commandé en 1809 par le Sénat impérial pour décorer la salle de ses séances. Désormais exposé dans le musée de Versailles, il représente le moment devenu légendaire où Bonaparte harangue ses troupes : « Soldats ! Du haut de ces pyramides , quarante siècles vous contemplent ! ». Gros inscrit le général dans la conception classique du héros victorieux dans une toile dont l'apparence supérieure est accusée par l'environnement de militaires fondus.
