Sir Barnes Neville Wallis Life-size bronze Statute, on green near Eastcliff Parade, Herne Bay, Kent. Near junction of Beacon Hill Road (behind) and Canterbury Road (on right). It is on the Herne Bay Cultural Trail (No4). Sign on plinth reads 'Sir Barnes Neville Wallis 1887-1979 Scientist, engineer and inventor. Most noted for his invention of the bouncing bomb used in the dambuster raids. American Sculptor, Tom White, www.tomwhitestudio.com'. |
