Title
barbed and tanged arrowhead (dorsal)
Description
English: Flint barbed and tanged arrowhead with a wide tang and both barbs intact, which curve into semi-circular pointed terminals, which do not quite meet the level of the base of the tang. The arrowhead is bimarginally worked around its entire edge and on both the ventral and dorsal faces.

The flint is a light grey colour, probably made from a local beach pebble. The length to breadth ratio is about 4:3.

Bond (2004) illustrates a similar barbed and tanged arrowhead on page 125, Fig.5.110, Sutton Type C (l), which is dated from the Early Bronze Age.

Keene (1999) illustrates a similar barbed and tanged arrowhead from a barrow at Pelynt, in Cornwall, on page 31, Fig.1, No.5, and another from a barrow at Woodbury Common, in Devon, on page 48, Plate LXXX, which are both dated from the Early Bronze Age.
