DescriptionBalne Station (remains) 1749656 4b37f827.jpg
English: Balne Station (remains).
View northward towards Selby and York, East Coast Main Line. The station, along with many other wayside stations on the ECML, had been closed on 15/9/58 to allow more freedom for accelerated expresses, but on this occasion the crossing, which was on a minor road, had been closed - ?just for me. The station lost Goods services later (6/7/64), but the line is still of course very much alive.
