Description
English: Bal Nilakantha in Balaju of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. This temple or idol has a black stone statue of Lord Bal Narayan in a small pond in the famous Baisadhara Udhan of Balaju. It is also called Balaji Budhanilkantha. This is the name of a place called Balaju after the name of Balaji. According to the historical narration, the Budhanilkantha idol found in Gyaneshwar, Kathmandu was brought and installed in the Bhandarkhal of the palace and the water of Budhanilkantha was poured into the pond there. The kings visit Budhanikantha of Balaju without going to Budhanilkantha.
