Summary

Description
English: Caricature on the Austrian language regulation of Kasimir Feliks Badeni: Count Badeni the "curious gentleman", revives the invention of the cat piano and thus achieves a great success. In order to solve the problem of nationality in Bohemia, on 5 April 1897 he had prescribed the knowledge and use of German and Czech for all officials. Not only among the Germans and Czechs but also among other nationalities in Austria-Hungary, this evoked negative reactions from Germans in Bohemia, as the Czech learned German in school, but few Germans knew Czech, excluding them from government jobs. Count Badeni is caricatured as the singer. The cats are labeled "Moravian", "German", "Czech", "[Hun]garian", "Pole", "Slovak", "Ruthenian", "Croat".
