I was at the school 1954-58. My fondest memories attach to Mr Ward, who took a group of us, usually including Mr Collinson, birdwatching all over Lancashire, every Saturday, whatever the weather, all year round. My least fond memories attach to Mr Parks, a ruler-rapping, face-slapping history teacher, who left, in my time, to become a Labour parliamentary candidate (MP only later under Harold Wilson - see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trevor_Park). |
