Cartridge is for 50-lb shell.
Length 2.8 inches, diameter 3.84 inches.
The core consists of 3 oz 12 drams Cordite size 3 3/4, about 7 feet long, twisted into shape and secured with silk sewing.
Each of the 3 rings consists of 2 oz 9 drams cordite.
The igniter consists of 8 drams S.F.G. 2 powder in 4 compartments.
The becket of silk sewing attached to the base facilitates withdrawing the cartridge from its silk cloth cover.
