Религиозно-политическое движение XVII века, в результате которого произошло отделение от Русской православной церкви части верующих, не принявших реформ патриарха Никона.

Глава и идеолог старообрядчества протопоп Аввакум, а также священник Лазарь, диакон Феодор, инок Епифаний были сосланы на Крайний Север и заточены в земляную тюрьму в Пустозерске. После 14 лет заточения и пыток они были заживо сожжены в срубе в 1682 году.
English: The raskol (schism) of the XVII century in Russia and the Old Believers as a special branch of Orthodoxy.

Religious-political movement of the XVII century, as a result of which there was separation from the Russian Orthodox Church of the faithful, not to accept the reforms of Patriarch Nikon.

The leader and ideologist of the Old Believers protopope (archpriest) Avvakum as well as priest Lazarus, deacon Theodore, monk Epiphany were exiled to the Far North and imprisoned in an earthen prison Pustozersk. After 14 years of imprisonment and torture, they were burnt alive in a wooden house in 1682.
