English: Auxerre, France. From the rue du Garde-Neige, the Saint-Germain abbey. Français : Auxerre, rue du Garde-Neige, vue vers l'ouest - l'Yonne est à 30 m derrière nous - depuis le croisement avec la rue du Mont Brenn, qui part sur notre droite légèrement derrière nous. Devant nous, la maison du coche d'eau avec ses colombages en arc brisé. Au fond, l'abbaye Saint-Germain à droite et la tour de la place Saint-Germain (à l'entrée de l'abbaye, à la jonction de la rue du lycée Jacques Amyot et de la rue Cochois) à sa gauche. La rue du Garde-Neige est ainsi appelée parce c'était là que se trouvait une réserve de glace que l'on ramassait sur l'Yonne en hiver pour la conservation des aliments l'été. Nom alternatif : rue du Réservoir (voir Faubourg Saint-Amâtre sur auxerre.historique.free.fr). |
