English: Miro Learning Common at Albany Senior High School, New Zealand. A learning common is a large (5 classroom equivalent) space, within which most of the teaching and learning occurs at Albany Senior High School. Subjects requiring specialist spaces like art, music, drama and technology still have their own spaces, but subject that just require a learning space (like English, mathematics, geography and history) are taught in the commons. The lack of internal walls allows maximum flexibility when it comes to furniture layout, access to technology, team-teaching, multi-levelling and cross-subject instruction.
