Summary

Description U.S. Navy ships and aircraft in Little Placentia Sound off the U.S. Naval Station Argentia, Newfoundland, Canada, in 1942. Visible are nine Consolidated PBY Catalina and two Martin PBM Mariner flying boats, on the right is the faintail of the seaplane tender USS Albemarle (AV-5). An old battleship is anchored in the background.
