English: Wattah Wattah Festival or Basaan Festival (literally: dousing of water) is the feast of Saint Peter patron saint of Apalit: The 178th year "Libad" or "Apung Iru" ("Grandfather Saint Peter") fluvial procession was held on June 28, 29 and 30, 2023; the first "Libad" fluvial procession of the image was held in 1844; At present, the image is under Toto Gonzalez from 2008, with the help of Badenhop’s daughter, Mylene Ramiro; the 1700s years old venerated ivory image of St. Peter (an heirloom of the Armayan-Espiritu y Macam clan of sitio Alauli, San Vicente, Apalit) is paraded along the Apalit River of Rio Grande. "Apung Iru" has long been considered miraculous and he has devotees from all over the Philippines. On June 30, 2023, the "Libad" is part of the 426th Apalit Town Fiesta; "Apung Iru" was fetched from the St. Peter Apalit Church for manual carrying procession into a yellow-decorated barge towards Sitio Alauli, San Vicente Apalit Chapel surounded by hundreds of bancas, passenger and fishing vessels, barges including Rescue boats of Pampanga towns, Philippine Coast Guard, BFAR - fluvial procession; "Apung Iru" was paraded via manual carrying procession ascending the Sulipan Bridge to MacArthur Highway " and finally was sent home at his Shrine at Barangay Capalangan, Apalit just beside the Parish Church; in then entire Apung Iru Festival more than 200,000 mob or sea of people closed ranks, with non-stop street dancing, drinking and more importantly, the "Basaan" or traditional pouring or sprinkling of water at all the crowds.
