DescriptionApproaching Redhill station - geograph.org.uk - 546718.jpg
English: Approaching Redhill station Diesel mechanical units were not at all common on British Rail's Southern Region: diesel-electric units were preferred because the controls were similar to those of electric trains with which all drivers would be familiar. But a few DMUs were allocated in 1979 to the Tonbridge to Reading service, of which one is seen here approaching Redhill from Tonbridge. It will reverse at Redhill to continue its journey towards Reading.
