En el Zócalo de la Ciudad de México, José Alfonso Suárez del Real, secretario de Cultura de la Ciudad de México, inauguró, junto a la reconocida bailarina y coreógrafa Rossana Filomarino, el Festival del Cuerpo en Movimiento, México, Ciudad que Baila. Además se contó con la presencia de Carmen Correa, Paula Herrera, Antonio Salinas y Héctor Garay, miembros del consejo curatorial del festival. Para iniciar el festival participaron diversos grupos ejecutando la danza de Chinelos, Azteca y danza contemporánea y la exposición fotográfica La Ciudad Danza.
