Deutsch: Das Antiquarium wurde ab 1568 zur Aufnahme der herzoglichen Antikensammlung im Erdgeschoss und Bibliothek im Obergeschoss als Erweiterung der Münchner Residenz errichtet und das Erdgeschoss wenig später zu einem Festsaal umgestaltet. Es stellt einen der bedeutendsten erhaltenen Sammlungsbauten der Renaissance dar.
English: The Antiquarium was built from 1568 to accommodate the ducal collection of antiquities on the ground floor and library on the upper floor as an extension of the Munich Residenz, and the ground floor was soon converted into a banquet hall. It represents one of the most significant surviving collection buildings of the Renaissance.
Français : L'Antiquarium a été construit à partir de 1568 pour abriter la collection d'antiquités du duc au rez-de-chaussée et la bibliothèque à l'étage supérieur en tant qu'extension de la Résidence de Munich, et le rez-de-chaussée a rapidement été transformé en salle de banquet.
