Summary

Description
English: Taken from the ABI instrument aboard the GOES-16 satellite this colored visible image of a powerful Antarctic low was taken on 16 October 2022, at 22:00 UTC. An analysis published by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts placed the minimum pressure of this storm at 900.7 mbar at 06:00 UTC on 17 October while a paper published in Geophysical Research Letters got a pressure of 899.91 mbar at 03:00 UTC the same day. Both of these pressures would make the system the most intense extratropical cyclone in the satellite era.
