English: Annie Jane Allen Schnackenberg (22 November 1835 - 2 May 1905) of Auckland, New Zealand (at far left) photographed sometime around 1896 with her three daughters: (l-r) Amy Isabel Mary (23 Apr 1867 - 4 Sep 1947), Lucy Jane Schnackenberg (27 Dec 1872 - 17 Feb 1937, later Astley - married 1899), Katrina Elizabeth Schnackenberg Astley (30 Apr 1865 - 22 Aug 1952, married 1890). Annie Jane Schnackenberg was national president of the Women's Christian Temperance Union of New Zealand (1891-1901) and a charter member of the National Council of Women of New Zealand founded in 1896. The photograph was stamped with the name W.H. [William Henry] Bartlett who moved his studio to Queen Street in Auckland in October 1895. The original photograph, copied here with permission, can be accessed in the Kawhia Regional Museum, Kawhia, New Zealand.
