DescriptionAnna Kirstin Thomsen from Tvoroyri Faroe Islands Holding An Old Emergency Lamp.jpg
English: Anna Kirstin Thomsen from Tvøroyri in the Faroe Islands is holding an old emergency lamp, which was used by boat in the Faroe Islands in the old days. The photo is taken inside the Old Shop in Tvoroyri, which used to be a Monopoly Store until 1856, when a new law opened up for other shops and ended the Monopoly. Anna Kirstin's great great grandfather bought the buildings in Tvøroyri which belonged to the Royal Danish Monopoly and the buildings are still in the same family. Anna Kirstin runs today the Pub and Café, which is also a museum and the Sail Loft, which is a Cultural Centre.
